Sony and Sprint Launch Mobile Broadband Capable Laptops
The new Sony VAIO TX-N10 series notebooks will incorporate Sprint Mobile Broadband Service for Lighting Fast Internet Access Nationwide.
Sony will soon offer its first ultra-portable laptop to include integrated broadband capable wide area network technology from Sprint.
The new VAIO VGN-TXN10 series notebooks will connect to Sprint Power Vision Network for wireless broadband speed. Sprint will upgrade its network in 2007 with EV-DO Revision A for faster broadband upload speeds. Average download speeds will be 450 to 800 kbps and upload speeds of 300 to 400 kbps.
The VAIO TX comes with Sony’s SmartWi technology that integrates WAN, 802.11b/g, and Bluetooth. The ultraportable laptop weighs only 2.8 pounds and is 1-inch thick, wrapped around a carbon fiber chassis. Inside, the machine comes with Intel Core Solo processor Ultra Low Voltage, 11.1-inch widescreen with XBRITE, built-in DVD burner, and equipped with fingerprint sensor. Sony advertises the VAIO TX battery life to last five to 11 hours.
The Sony VGN-TXN10 series notebooks with mobile broadband will be available late September starting at $2,300 in charcoal, platinum, sienna, and slate blue colors.
