X BOX 360, PS3 and Wii are in Need for Speed
It’s official! The next in line in the successful series of car-racing madness Need for Speed is about to come out for X BOX 360, PS3 and Wii by the end of this year!
The last one was- as expected- a huge commercial hit for world’s No. 1 game producer and publisher Electronic Arts, so they had to continue it. It seems this year’s Need for Speed has been baptized Carbon (weird name though…how does this sound: Carbon for Wii?)
What does it bring new? Well, according to rumors not much, except for some sort of canyon (or carbon?…) racing, if the police interferes in your team war against rivals. You actually race along with a crew “in an all-out war for the city, risking everything to take over your rivals’ neighborhoods one block at a time.” Actually the press release sounds like this: “What starts in the city is settled in the canyons as Need for Speed Carbon immerses you into the world’s most dangerous and adrenaline-filled form of street racing. You and your crew must race in an all-out war for the city, risking everything to take over your rivals’ neighborhoods one block at a time. As the police turn up the heat, the battle ultimately shifts to Carbon Canyon, where territories and reputations can be lost on every perilous curve.”
EA also announced big time possibilities for race customization, both for players and their crew. The “modding” fans will beneficiate from EA’s ‘next-generation’ Autosculpt technology, which apparently gives you, “the power to design and tweak your crew’s cars in every way”. Carbon NFS was first announced in a Sony conference before the E3 manifestation from May, which took place in Los Angeles.
Need for Speed Carbon follows last year’s NFS Most Wanted, and it will debut in November 2006 on multiple platforms Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, DS, Game Boy Advance, PSP, PC, and mobile phones.
